The Institutional Biotech Hub, Science College, Kokrajhar was established in the year, 2013 with the financial assistance of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India under NER-BPMC Scheme. It was inaugurated by the Director of Education, BTC, Assam in August, 2014. The hub laboratory is equipped with basic facilities like, bacteriological incubator, laminar air flow, water bath, autoclave, hot air oven, high speed centrifuge, deep freezer, muffle furnace and required equipments for PCR technique such as trans-illuminator, electrophoresis and thermal cycler have been procured recently. Since its inception the IBH is providing laboratory supports to the H.S., B.Sc., B.E. and Ph.D. students to do their project/ research work. The hub also do research work on local issues of biological science and conducts workshop & hands on training programmes for imparting awareness and knowledge on Biotechnology research and development.
